Lamplit Orange

Burnt orange in winter 

And the smell of smoking embers

The kiss of a cool mountain  breeze 

And the sound of a rose petal falling through the air 

Or the purr of a cat content on velvet feet

The dance of a moonlit shadow in the wind 

Or the simple stroke of a brush upon the canvas of life
